So much for April Showers...Someone needs to let the weatherman know that it's May!

Rainy days with a 4 year-old boy are no fun! A rainy series of days is even less fun! This is how Aiden entertained himself the past few days...



Ahh...the little imp!
Needless to say, we were thankful to see the sun today--but also thankful that we have a long, wide hall to sprint down. He literally did this a few dozen times--it was a regular track workout!

Easter festivities

Easter weekend started for Aiden with a church egghunt. He got to go in the 0-3 year old group, even though he'll be 4 next month. There was a 15 egg limit, but by the time I caught up with him he had a good 20+ eggs horded in his basket--we had to put some back.



Easter morning began with a search for his Easter basket...Nope. Not under the table.

There it is! And no, mommy and daddy didn't empty his toybox to hide it. Aiden had dumped all of his toys out of it, so we thought it'd be a convenient hiding place...He figured that one out pretty quickly.
After a candy re-charge...
He got to open his Easter basket from the Ohio grandparents...We're saving those Peeps specifically for their visit in May. Wouldn't want them to miss out on the Aiden on Sugar experience!

Prepping for a new sister

I've finally used my sewing machine! Thanks for the help mom! This was only my 2nd sewing project that I've attempted on my own--turned out pretty well considering, although I did have help from my mom who used to sew her own clothes in high school and made me many an outfit/doll over the years!

Aiden has informed the entire class that the new baby's name is Emily. LOL...we aren't releasing her name to the general public, so we haven't told Aiden--but it is funny to see what he comes up with. I still don't think he really grasps what is coming, and I know there'll be a big adjustment period, but it'll all work out. Siblings do eventually get used to each other--or so I'm told.

Winter or Spring?

We've had a rash of weather extremes lately...One weekend we had a snowstorm with about 8 inches of snow and the following weekend it reached 80 degrees...So here are the recent Aiden pictures:

Those yellow boots are not snow boots...they're galoshes...Who thought we'd get snow this year in March?

Today it's 45 degrees and rainy...I miss last weekend! We are looking forward to spring in this household, that's for sure!

The Gingerbread Train

Little Stinker! So the question is always "can I have one gumdrop?" Today I said yes. This is a rare occurrence for me as daddy is much more lenient when it comes to candy. I let him say yes and I say no. It works. Today I said yes. So Aiden heads gleefully to the gingerbread train and chooses a blue candy. He said, "I like blue one" and continued to suck on it making happy grunting noises for the next 10 minutes. Then he tries a new angle "I didn't like that one. I need to pick new one." Huh? Sorry bud...you picked blue and you ate it with relish. Somehow I don't believe you. It scares me to see how quickly he is finding little ways around this. And as I was typing he wanted some Christmas cookies (which are now 3 weeks old and need to be tossed!). I told him no, of course, and he stalks off to his playroom carrying the bag...Ummm...I don't think so. I'm not that dumb yet, son!
